The Sustainable Community Rating provides a common language to assist developers in the planning and delivery of sustainability in new residential communities.
It is based on five interrelated objectives:

- Urban Design Excellence
- Housing Affordability
- Commercial Success
The Sustainable Community Rating is the outcome of collaboration between representatives from the development industry, Victorian government and peak bodies.
